German Opposition

German American brewers created an Anti-Prohibitionist group and in this piece they tried to protect breweries from being banned and used the economic importance of these breweries' existence as an excuse for people to vote "wet."
German-Americans speak of their city's dreadful state after multiple breweries switched to products other than alcohol. They mourn that their towns are not the same and have lost their "unique charm." 
Clearly opposing the Prohibition movement, German-Americans promoted their values of drinking and claimed that a man could drink without assaulting his wife and children. 
Germans opposed the Prohibition and felt that banning alcohol impeded their freedom and happiness. In this document, Germans notified Americans of the reasons why they were against Prohibition.
